On 23rd March 2008 Polcraft opened their "Art Inspiration" Gallery at the Gosfield Shopping Village, Gosfield, Essex.  The art selection on show in the gallery features over 200 original art items.  The craft selection covers a wide range of amber jewellery, ceramics, glass painting, lace, leather, paper cuts ("wycinanki")  and wood crafts.

Polish people are famous for their sense of humour and spontaneous character. Arts created by Poles give the same impression.   All of our artists have had their work exhibited by major galleries in Poland, both individually and as part of collectives.  

Polcraft Ltd, with the support of Essex County Council as a part of "One Essex One World" Festival, is organising the "Patchwork - Arts &Crafts from New Europe" Festival from 6th June to 13th June 2010 at Gosfield Shopping Village. This exciting week-long event will introduce people to a variety of Polish arts and crafts. A mixed group of Polish and English artists will show and teach participants unusual art techniques such as paper cutting, painting on silk, leather craft and much more.

“PATCHWORK” – Arts & Crafts Festival

part of the One Essex One World programme for 2010.

Welcome to our Polish Art Event with a background of gentle folk music and a taste of Polish food.  The event will be taking place at Gosfield Shopping Village from Sunday 6^th June until Sunday 13^th June.

The events will start at 11.00 on Sunday 6^th June.

A variety of artists will demonstrate their work:

-         Paper artwork, for example paper flowers, origami and “wycinanki” – paper cuts;

-         Carbon-copy-graphics – a unique technique using carbon copy paper and an iron;

-         You will have the opportunity to have your sketch portrait drawn;

-         Watch the artists at work using various techniques, including decorating some of the exteriors at Gosfield Shopping Village;

-         You will be able to join an art class in different techniques such as pencil sketching, pastels, and watercolours from 15.00 to 16.30 every day;

-         Art fun for children with face painting using Polish designs and join in creating our own big painting puzzle entitled “The World” which will be painted by the children who visit us during this week;

-         Have fun learning some Polish Language;

For good luck a “Lajkonik” will accompany us.  This is a Polish character from Krakow, who brings good luck to those who are touched by his magic wand.

On Sunday 13^th June we will have a special performance programme:

-      Traditional folk dance “Krakowiak” at 12.00, followed by a performance from the children of “REVI” – from Braintree;

-      Live music at Lunch Time by “Ewelina & Daniel” at The Courtyard Restaurant at 13.00 and 14.00 for 20 min. each;
